Career Fair set for Oct. 21 at MVSU

The Career Services Center at 91自拍 will welcome over 40 organizations for the Fall 2021 Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, in the R.W. Harrison Complex. 

As MVSU moves forward with making things as normal as possible on campus for students, the Career Services Center will host an in-person career fair while offering a virtual career fair and graduate school expo.

MVSU Announces Partnership with Washtenaw Community College

Announced ahead of National Transfer Student Week (Oct. 18-22), the news marks the first comprehensive agreement 鈥 with benefits such as guaranteed admission and access to in-state tuition 鈥 between a Michigan two-year school and a Historically Black College & University (HBCU).

MVSU holds Grand Opening, Ribbon-cutting for Chick-Fil-A

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, 91自拍 officials welcomed local civic leaders, faculty, staff, students, and community members to a ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the Chick-fil-A at MVSU.

The excitement surrounding the addition of such a well-respected brand has had the Valley and local community members buzzing since its announcement.

MVSU student to compete on Food Network's "Halloween Wars"

Corterrius 鈥淒aCakeGoat鈥 Allen started his journey and love of making and designing cakes with a $35 baking kit and two cupcake pans that his mom, Jacquelyn Allen, purchased.

He made his first cake for a friend, and while he says, "the cake was ugly," his friend loved it and told him, 鈥淚t was delicious.鈥

Fast forward a couple of years, and the 20-year-old 91自拍 Social Work major has come a long way since that $35 baking kit.

MVSU honored "Women in Blues" during 7th annual B.B. King Day Symposium

The 91自拍 community recently received a touch of the blues when the institution hosted the 7th annual B.B. King Day Symposium.

Just like the iconic B.B. King mesmerized the world with his musical abilities, this year, it was the women who brought the thrills and sang the roof off of the Carver A. Randle Auditorium.  

MVSU Receives Anonymous Donation of $250,000

91自拍 officials recently announced that the 鈥淓ducational Oasis of the Delta鈥 received an anonymous $250,000 donation to support student scholarships.

Dr. Jerryl Briggs announced the 鈥淧rosperity Scholarship鈥 during the Fall 2021 Faculty and Staff Orientation. He shared his appreciation to the donor for the gift and how it provides the institution an additional means to keep students first.

MVSU to honor "Women in Blues" during 7th Annual BB King Day Symposium

The role women have played in the history of the world is vast, and on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 1-2), 91自拍 will hold the 7th Annual B.B. King Day Symposium and pay tribute to the role women have played in music, especially the blues.

Organizers felt the decision to focus on Women in Blues for the 7th Annual B.B. King Day Symposium is timely and significant. 

Ivory Returns to MVSU to lead Alumni Affairs Office

George Ivory is returning home, but this time the long-time basketball coach will be calling plays from behind a desk as the new Director of Alumni Relations in the Office of Alumni Affairs at 91自拍.

Ivory, a 1988 MVSU graduate, former standout Delta Devils basketball player, and assistant coach, is excited about returning to his alma mater.
