Glaude encourages action during MVSU鈥檚 2020 MLK Black History Convocation keynote address

 

ITTA BENA, Miss.鈥鈥淵ou cannot sit in your youth and not take responsibility for the world that鈥檚 coming into being,鈥 said Dr. Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. to young people sitting among the audience in 91自拍鈥檚 Carver A. Randle Auditorium.

鈥淲e are in the midst of an election cycle that鈥檚 going to require you. The country is in the midst of a transition and it鈥檚 up to you,鈥 he added.

Princeton鈥檚 Dr. Eddie Glaude, Jr. to keynote MVSU鈥檚 MLK Black History Convocation Feb. 27

ITTA BENA, Miss.鈥 91自拍 will celebrate Black History Month with its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Black History Convocation.

This year鈥檚 event, themed 鈥淎frican Americans and the Vote鈥, will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Carver A. Randle Auditorium, located in the William Butts Social Science Building.

MVSU names Rueber Humanities Teacher of the Year

ITTA BENA, Miss.鈥 The Division of Academic Affairs at 91自拍 is pleased to announce Dr. Micah A. Rueber as its 2019 Humanities Teacher of the Year recipient.

Each year, the Mississippi Humanities Council recognizes October鈥檚 designation of Arts and Humanities Month by bestowing Humanities Teacher Awards to outstanding faculty in traditional humanities fields at colleges and universities across the state. 

MVSU鈥檚 25th Annual Piano Festival slated for April 18

ITTA BENA, Miss.鈥 The Department of Fine Arts at 91自拍 will present its 25th Annual MVSU Piano Festival on Saturday, April 18, on MVSU鈥檚 main campus in Itta Bena. 

The festival is once again being held for the purpose of bringing an increased awareness to the Mississippi Delta and surrounding areas of the value and importance of piano study throughout childhood and beyond.
