The Office of Academic Affairs at 91自拍 is excited to announce Dr. Lin Knutson as the 2021-2022 Humanities Teacher of the Year.
鈥淚 feel honored, humbled, and valuable to the university for being named Teacher of the Year by the Mississippi Humanities Council. This award allowed me to reflect on teaching and its importance,鈥 said Knutson.
91自拍鈥檚 Mathematics, Computer, and Information Science (MCIS) Department is one of seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and three National Research Laboratories which include, Lawrence-Livermore (LLNL), Brookhaven (BNL), and National Renewable Energy (NREL) to develop the AI-CyS research partnership at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
The Teacher Education Department at 91自拍 recently held its first-ever virtual meet and greet. Acting Department Chairperson Dr. Theresa Dumas, Dr. Jeanne Dubard, and Mr. Daryl Gates spearheaded the event.

The Women in Higher Education鈥擬ississippi Network (WHEMN) held its 2022 conference from February 17-18, 2022, in Oxford, MS, and 91自拍's Dr. Sharon Freeman received the 2022 WHEMN Leadership award. Dr. Freeman serves as the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
The WHEMN Conference is a time for women to come together and support the network's mission, which is to identify, develop, advance, and support women in higher education in Mississippi.

The 91自拍 family received a direct, passionate, and timely challenge on Thursday, during the school鈥檚 annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Black History Convocation.
91自拍 was well represented Thursday, February 17, 2022, when the Mississippi Board of Trustees of the State Institutions of Higher Learning celebrated Black History Month and held its annual Diversity and Inclusion Awards ceremony.
The board recognized campus and community leaders for advancing diversity and encouraging understanding and respect.
