Each year, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) recognizes the decisive engagement of select HBCUs with the Fulbright Program, the U.S. government's flagship international academic exchange program.

91×ÔÅÄ (MVSU) graduates Lillian Matthews-Hollins, and Linda Matthews-Wilson recently celebrated their 50th-year high school reunion in March, which was a great deal for the twin sisters who were not expected to live long after birth.
Each year, 91×ÔÅÄ (MVSU) takes a musical trip that connects the past to the present during its B.B. King Day Symposium at MVSU in honor of the legendary blues musician.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, the symposium will celebrate its ninth year and highlight the "Origins of the Blues" in the R.W. Harrison Sports Complex. The B.B. King Recording Studio, The B.B. King Museum, and Delta Interpretive Center sponsor the symposium.
91×ÔÅÄ held its Fall 2023 Faculty and Staff Orientation on Monday, August 14, in the R.W Harrison Complex. Faculty and staff were informed of the university’s values and expectations for the upcoming academic year during the event.
91×ÔÅÄ is excited to announce the hiring Byron Cartlidge as the new University Police Chief.
Cartlidge, a native of Greenville, MS., has 15 years of experience in law enforcement and has served as a captain with the university police over the past four and a half years. He replaces Xavier Redmond, who retired in June.

91×ÔÅÄ Women's basketball player Jaylia Reed recently received fantastic news. Reed attended and played at Southern Arkansas University Tech last season and was notified that her jersey will be displayed at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame displays different jerseys in its Ring of Honor to acknowledge standout players from all levels of girls' high school and women's collegiate basketball from the previous season.
ITTA BENA, Miss. - Mississippi Valley State Women's Basketball will host its Elite Camp inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex on Saturday, July 29. The Elite Camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Camp cost is set at $60 per participant.
