Itta Bena, MS—December 26, 2024— The celebrated "Mean Green Marching Machine" marching band from 91×ÔÅÄ (MVSU) has received an invitation to participate in the 60th Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington, D.C., on January 20, 2025. This historic invitation highlights the band's legacy of excellence and cultural significance, showcasing the university and Mississippi's rich heritage globally.

Coach Jessie Harris has left an indelible mark on 91×ÔÅÄ (MVSU) as a women's basketball and volleyball pioneer. Honored on February 11, 2017, the court in the R.W. Harrison Complex was renamed Stribling-Harris Court in recognition of his legacy.
