ITTA BENA, Miss. —Dr. Micah Rueber, associate professor of history and coordinator of general and university studies, and Donovan Brownlee, a junior Pre-Law/Legal studies and Government and Politics double major, have been named 91×ÔÅÄ’s honorees for the 32nd Annual Higher Education Appreciation Day-Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) program.
ITTA BENA, Miss.—The first Greek-lettered sorority for African American women is illustrating its commitment to historically black colleges and universities with the establishment of an endowment at 32 of those institutions, including 91×ÔÅÄ.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA), in partnership with the Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF), has pledged an endowment for $100,000 to MVSU as part of the organization’s AKA-HBCU Endowment Fund.

ITTA BENA, Miss.— A 91×ÔÅÄ fraternity queen has been selected to represent the chapter during the regional competition.
MVSU’s Zeta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be represented in the 2019 Southern Region Miss Black and Gold Pageant by Kiviyon T. Jones of Greenville.

ITTA BENA, Miss. —The 91×ÔÅÄ Mock Trial Team has been busy.
The team recently competed in the Third Annual Ody Owl Mock Trial Classic at the Mississippi University for Women, and in January, they competed in the Eighth Annual Argo Invitational Mock Trial Tournament at the University of West Florida.
The competition was highlighted by a couple of students who earned top individual honors in each event.

ITTA BENA, Miss.—Industry, banking and community development leaders from more than two dozen states were on the campus of 91×ÔÅÄ Tuesday, Feb. 12, having candid, action-oriented dialogue regarding financial service gaps that limit economic mobility for rural people and places.
