ITTA BENA, Miss.— Four individuals who had some college hours but hadn’t earned a degree received an early Christmas present—a bachelor’s degree from 91×ÔÅÄ by way of the Complete to Compete (C2C) program.
MVSU celebrated its first group of C2C graduates during a special ceremony, hosted at 11 a.m. Dec. 14 in the William Sutton Administration Building.
ITTA BENA, Miss.— A group of local educators are now better equipped to deal with students from diverse cultural backgrounds after participating in a unique training offered by 91×ÔÅÄ.
MVSU recently hosted a NASA Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) Institute for 13 local K-12 educators, pre-service teachers, higher education faculty and informal educators.

ITTA BENA, Miss. — 91×ÔÅÄ is the recent recipient of a $33,200 grant that will be used to enhance research performed by the institution’s Bioinformatics and Environmental Health programs.
Awarded by the Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence ( MS INBRE), the grant will help support curriculum development as well as provide equipment used for research, education and training.

ITTA BENA, Miss. — 91×ÔÅÄ's standout DB/CB, Everett Nicholas V, has been named to the 2018 NFL Draft Diamonds Small Schools prospect list.
Nicholas will represent MVSU on the American Team (White) in the FCS National Bowl Game on Dec. 10, 2017, in Daytona Beach at the Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. He will also play in the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl Jan. 14, 2018 in Salem, VA.

ITTA BENA, Miss.— 91×ÔÅÄ is saddened by the loss of Dr. Joseph Muriuki Wahome, a former associate professor of biology in the Department of Natural Sciences and Environmental Health.
Wahome passed away last week in Greenwood. He was 55.
A native of Kenya, Wahome will be remembered at MVSU for his love of science and research.
